This is a great stop if you're visiting the area! There's lots of photos and exhibits about the trolleys that were once an important lifeline to the area. There's also an old caboose to explore. It's entirely run by volunteers who care about preserving the history and it shows. Even includes a trolley ride on a preserved trolley. Very accessible for people with mobility issues; you can even take a wheelchair in the trolley. Overall very cool.

The Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum is small but quaint. The main office contains the usual train paraphernalia and two working train sets ( Lionel and HO scale ) to play with. The staff was very friendly and informative. In the yard there are a few Boston MBTA trolley in disrepair. The site of them brought me back to the days when I would ride them to school. The totally refurbished and working yellow trolley is a masterpiece of when things were made well and meant to last. I appreciated the iron works and the masterfully constructed wooden interior. The manual train cart give visitors the change to experience of knowing what it takes to get the cart going and stopping. The tickets to ride the trolley are very reasonable and I would recommend anyone visiting the area to make this one of their stops.
